Are you an experienced asbestos surveyor looking for a new challenge? In this role you will carry out and oversee the asbestos re-inspection programme for the University. Other duties include responding to reactive maintenance enquires to provide onsite risk assessment and solutions where asbestos containing materials may be present. You will be supported to upskill and assist the safe management of asbestos by planning and commissioning small scale asbestos removal works. About You What we need from you The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who, among other qualities, can demonstrate: That they hold asbestos industry qualifications such as the BOHS P402 (Desirable to hold P403, P404 and or P405) Comprehensive experience of carrying out Management, Management re-inspection, Refurbishment and Demolition surveys for a UKAS accredited consultancy with proven experience. Experience of handling and managing asbestos data associated with asbestos risk assessments. Experience of maintaining Asbestos Management processes. An up-to-date knowledge of Asbestos Health and Safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance. Strong awareness of Health and Safety legislation, in addition to knowledge of other relevant statutory legislation. Experience of contractor management and knowledge of maintenance activities within buildings. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to advise, support, challenge and explain complex information to multiple stakeholders and to form strong working relationships with colleagues across a large organisation. Excellent Organisational skills and with the ability to solve problems with minimal supervision. Able to identify own training needs and areas of development when required. Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and able to be flexible in their approach depending on the requirements of the team.
