Role Overview:
In this role you will develop current and future vehicle programs and methodologies in NVH CAE. Developing and optimising body and closures structures to fulfil vehicle, system and component requirements defined in the technical specifications. A primary focus of the role will be contributing to Simulation capability and competence improvement in NIO.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop ‘state of the art’ Computer-aided Engineering (CAE) methods and be an active member for training new starters.
Build, assemble and analyse complete vehicle and system level finite element models.
Assess Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) requirements for full vehicle, body and components, using latest CAE methods & tools.
Develop & optimise at vehicle, body and component level to meet requirements.
Define NVH requirements & perform correlation studies with physical test data.
Develop process improvements to enable faster, enhanced, more robust analysis to be performed.
Assist with the development of NVH attribute targets & competitor benchmarking.
Prepare and present study conclusions & proposals at Global CoE (Centre of Excellence) level.
Work collaboratively with Vehicle Engineering teams located in Oxford & China to deliver robust design solutions across all attributes.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
M.Sc. or higher education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience within Automotive Engineering and within the field of NVH CAE at an established OEM.
Thorough understanding of finite element analysis. Hands-on experience with solvers such as NASTRAN and OPTISTRUCT. Pre- and post-processing tools like ANSA, META, HYPERMESH, NVHD and HYPERVIEW.
Experience with Optimisation & DoE toolsets such as Optistruct & Hyperstudy preferable.
Experience or working knowledge of new technologies, such as ‘Road Noice Cancellation (RNC)’ would be advantageous.
Experience or knowledge of vibroacoustic / SEA tools such as VA One would be advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
