What you will train to do...
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and budget forecasts.
- Support the financial accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data, analyze trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial models, spreadsheets, and databases to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
- Participate in cost control initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures.
- Gain exposure to financial systems and software, assisting in data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records.
- Engage in ad-hoc projects and tasks as directed by senior members of the financial accounting team, gaining exposure to a wide range of financial activities.
- Assist with the preparation of the Direct Liquidity Reporting to Group Treasury on a monthly basis in line with their requirements.
- Assist with the checking and preparation of VAT returns when required.
- Carry out and support tax-related projects on an ongoing basis.
- Complete all related coursework for the apprentice standard.
What we need from you...
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English, level 4 and above
- Enthusiasm for pursuing a career in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
