New position available, we are searching for a Lead Early Years Practitioner based in The Southville Centre. Location is BS3 1QG.
Are you looking for your next step within Early Education? If so, we are searching for an experienced practitioner who is caring, confident and motivated to lead and manage their own team. The Lead Early Years Practitioner will develop and strengthen the current room and work alongside supportive team members and the wider Nursery teams. You will be part of a management team, alongside five other Lead Practitioners. Working predominantly with children aged three to school age, you will be passionate about providing our preschool friends with a secure, warm and caring environment. You will see the potential in all the children in our care and will collaborate closely with our team to create interesting opportunities for each child to develop and shine.
Who we are… BS3 Community Development is an independent charity-run nursery and preschool working across two sites in Southville and Bedminster: The Southville Centre and the Chessel Centre. Our charity aims to improve the lives and well-being of people who live and work within the BS3 postcode and we are looking for our newest team member to help us achieve this goal.

We actively network with external professionals, collaborate with other settings and Early Years teams, participate in development projects, pilot new frameworks and resources and are involved in the Bristol Standard, Health and Wellbeing framework and Outdoor Play and Learning framework. We closely link with our Communities team to support intergenerational work within our spaces and around the UK, support food banks and community groups and events, to support children, families and local communities.
As our name suggests we value development, and we are proud in supporting people to complete various placements and apprenticeships on our sites. We also offer a wide range of in-house trainings created by our experts.
Who you are…
You need to be qualified to Level 3, with more than 3 years’ experience, or you might be a Qualified Teacher (3-7 age range) and fancy joining a Nursery, we are excited to meet you as our next Lead Practitioner.
HOURS: This is a full-time position; we are committed to supporting healthy work-life balance for our team and can be flexible for the right person.Working hours are between 37.5 and 40 hours per week, all year round (we are closed on Bank holidays and for 1 week for Christmas).RATE OF PAY: £28,937.70 to £30,866.88 per annum (£14.80/hour) plus benefits, including subsidised childcare & training and development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS: minimum recognised level 3 qualification or QTS.
DBS CHECK: all posts are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
