About Newlife
As one of the UK’s leading charities providing essential specialist equipment to disabled and terminally ill children, Newlife is
dedicated to making life better for the families we serve and for the people who help us make that happen. Through grants and
emergency equipment loans, we ensure children get the vital equipment they need when they need it, while our free nurse helpline
offers crucial support and information – as well as a listening ear. Our campaigns give disabled children and their families a
voice, even helping change laws to benefit the families we serve. We also support adults with additional needs with volunteering
and employment opportunities, offering career development pathways. We are not like any other charity. All the stock in our stores
is new, donated by retailers, allowing us to create a heaven for bargain hunters and savvy shoppers who want high-street and
designer products at discounted prices.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to oversee two Newlife stores, a unique role offering variety and an exciting
challenge. You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations at both locations, leading a team of paid staff and
volunteers, and driving sales to fund our work for disabled children and their families.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety. You’ll need to adapt quickly as product availability changes, moving
swiftly between locations and adjusting store layouts and merchandising to optimise sales. With Newlife, no two days are ever the
same.
Our culture is built on our Mission, Vision, and Values (MVV), and we expect you to inspire and model these at all times. As a
Deputy Store Manager, you'll help maintain and develop the store culture, ensuring it’s reflective of our MVV. You’ll be motivated
by results and always striving for continuous improvement. In return, we provide the support and resources you need to reach your
full potential.
What We Are Looking For:
* Commercially minded: You will be passionate about driving retail sales and profit.
* People-focused: Able to motivate and develop a team, ensuring excellent customer service and operational excellence.
* Retail management experience: You should have previous retail management experience and be able to work effectively with both
the Store Manager and the wider store team.
* Flexible and adaptable: As this is a dual-site role, you’ll need to be able to manage the demands of multiple locations.
Flexibility to cover additional hours and occasionally work at other Newlife stores will be essential.
* Creative skills: You’ll use your imagination to merchandise products to a high standard and engage customers, while also
tracking and driving KPIs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level while making a real difference in the
lives of disabled children and their families.
