Assistant Project Manager - CIVILS

It's an exciting time to join our Clients team as they engage in industry-leading civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for dynamic and forward-thinking individuals who are ready to support major civil infrastructure projects and contribute to the successful delivery of their works.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the Project Manager in managing responsibilities under the NEC contract.
* Engage in effective communication with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
* Contribute to the planning and development phases of the project.
* Assist in the coordination and management of project activities.
* Manage various ad hoc projects from concept to completion, ensuring successful delivery.
* Represent the department at various Sub-Group meetings.
* Monitor pipeline works and coordinate activities through regular stakeholder meetings.
* Produce and support monthly progress reports and governance approval papers.
* Lead procurement, monitoring, and performance of NEC contracts.
* Support the design interface with approved suppliers.
* Utilise CEMAR contract management software for effective communication.
* Liaise with external stakeholders to secure agreement or acceptance of plans associated with the reservoir scheme.
* Ensure a seamless handover of the project into operation upon completion.
* Maintain project development in accordance with Portsmouth Water standards, specifications, and policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, design, or a related field.
* Demonstrable experience in major civil infrastructure projects.
* Experience with NEC contract management is desirable.
* Membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., MICE, APM, PMI).
* Project management qualification (PRINCE, APM, or PMI).
* Full driving licence and ability to pass our driver assessment.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build excellent relationships.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of fostering collaborative working.
* Proven project management capabilities and working knowledge of planning software and techniques.
* Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
