An exceptional residential provision is seeking to appoint a Head of Care to join its team in 2024. The role involves providing outstanding care and leadership for children with complex social, communication, and interaction difficulties, including autism and hearing impairments.

The desired Head of Care will have strong leadership skills and a passion for promoting the welfare of children. This role will suit someone who thrives on building relationships with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure every child has the best opportunities to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and oversee all aspects of residential care, ensuring National Minimum Standards are met consistently.
2. Collaborate with leadership and governing bodies to implement recommendations from inspections and ensure compliance.
3. Foster a welcoming, nurturing environment where children feel at home.
4. Develop and deliver engaging, tailored activities for residents.
5. Supervise, develop, and appraise staff, championing professional growth.
6. Work with local authorities, parents, and external professionals to ensure seamless care and integration.
7. Lead on safeguarding and child protection matters, maintaining strict adherence to statutory requirements.
8. Prepare reports on service effectiveness and contribute to strategic planning.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A minimum of two years' supervisory experience in children's residential care.
2. Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to develop teams.
3. Experience working with children with SEN, including autism and communication difficulties.
4. A solid understanding of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation.
5. British Sign Language Level 2.
6. NVQ in Child/Social Care.
