Bedford Job Description A great opportunity has arisen for a Buyer for the UK Business. This role will be the focal point for supplier management, tendering and contracting for relevant materials. Ensuring availability of materials for relevant bakeries in scope of responsibility. You have: The ability to interact effectively at Senior Management Level, within UK Operational Steering group and at group level Strong commercial awareness, balanced with operational and supply chain appreciation The ability to work with individuals cross multiple functions & levels Excellent communication skills General knowledge of ERP systems Good attention to detail Effective time management You will be great at: Managing contracted availability of materials and services on a continuous basis Acquiring and preparing input data for RFx/tendering process Managing supplier relationship and performance and building a professional long term relationship with suppliers Onboarding and implementing new suppliers and/or items or phasing out suppliers and/or items in liaison with relevant stakeholders Providing & narrating budget/forecast material prices Managing major supplier complaints Securing compliance with standards, controls, policies and guidelines Driving CSI / VE activities to gain cost reduction/avoidance Proving recommendations for commodity / ingredient cover with Senior Leaders Understands the specific aspects of the various procurement categories Understands the importance and principles of category management and strategic procurement approach Influencing & contributing to the development of category strategies Achieves savings through execution of the activities in the category plans Comprehensive knowledge of the sourcing and contracting process and implementing TCO in sourcing Working closely with group procurement to facilitate most efficient and effective management of all procurement categories You are: Natural problem solver A team player with willingness to listen and act with the bigger picture in mind Good cross-functional understanding to enable win-win trade-off decision making Able to be Flexible, ‘can do’ attitude, but able to ‘stand ground’ as and when appropriate An excellent negotiator & influencer Sound Interesting?
