About the Role
As an MET Technician at Steer Darlington, you’ll play a vital role in returning vehicles to pre-accident condition. From diagnostics and dismantling to reassembly and quality checks, you’ll work on a wide range of vehicles, including the latest electric and hybrid models.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and trim components
*
Strip and refit vehicles to manufacturer standards
*
Carry out inspections and develop accurate repair plans
*
Manage parts ordering and inventory control
*
Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely, high-quality repairs
*
Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven experience in MET/strip and fit in an accident repair environment
*
Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicle systems (training can be provided)
*
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
*
Ability to manage time and workload effectively
*
Relevant ATA/NVQ qualifications (support provided for renewals/training)
*
Team player with a positive, proactive approach
