Position Summary

The position oversees multiple sites with responsibility for the development, implementation and administration of policies and processes for staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, regulatory compliance to meet the business strategies and customer requirements of the assigned sites within the framework of Catalent's overall corporate philosophy and policies, external laws and regulations.
This position will support the Leadership Team of the assigned sites to develop, implement and drive HR strategies that support the needs of the business.
The Role
* Develops and directs the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures, plans, processes and budgets dealing with the specific activities of recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, HR information systems to meet the business plan and competitive strategy of the business units supported in a cost-effective manner.
* Leads and develops the human resources team of personnel (e.g., HR Managers, HR Generalists, and HR Coordinators).
* Ensures alignment of such policies, procedures, plans, processes and budgets with those of Catalent Pharma Solutions.
* Partners with business unit leadership in the organization’s strategic planning efforts, providing insight on vital HR concerns and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
* Provides counsel & coaching to managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure and development.
* Establishes and maintains an effective and credible relationship with both leadership and employees; works closely with line management to provide support, planning and problem solving.
* In liaison with Talent Acquisition, plans and directs the organization’s recruitment, selection and placement of qualified managers and personnel with the critical technical and management skills required to ensure the continuity of operations.
* Develops, implements and administers an effective performance management system aimed at improving employee and organizational productivity.
* Counsels leaders on the development of training and development plans focused on building the critical skills and competencies required to handle present and future jobs more effectively.
* Ensures implementation and administration of succession planning process.
* In partnership with Catalent Compensation, develops, implements and administers fair and equitable reward systems that meet the strategic and competitive demands of the business.
* Develops and implements plans to introduce and manage cultural change within the organization to improve organizational effectiveness; ensures that organizational strategies, structure and processes are consistent with evolving business needs.
* Develop and manage the department budget.
* Maintain effectiveness of the Compliance System components relevant to this position.
* Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
* Bachelor's degree (ideally HR, Business or equivalent) required.
* CIPD Qualification preferred.
* Minimum 10 years broad and progressive experience in human resources with 3+ years in a management role within large organizations with progressive HR systems and processes. Exposure to manufacturing, pharmaceutical or related technical industries preferred.
* Expert knowledge in HR management concepts with a strong consultative, but results-oriented approach.
* Demonstrated success in collaboration with others and independent thought.
* Can demonstrate ability to understand the industry space and HR’s link to business results.
* Analytical ability, both interpersonal and issue-related; good judgment and ethics; professional presence and demeanor; strong interpersonal skills and political savvy.
* Strong business orientation and financial skills.
* Excellent negotiation and contracting skills. Ability to “get the job done” and take responsibility for results without direct authority. Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources.
* Ability to develop strategic relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills, adaptable to the level of audience.
* Superior customer service orientation with strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
* Willingness to travel and preferably mobile for future career opportunities.
* Advanced PC skills, knowledge of company specific software packages.
* Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
