Finance Assistant, Luton
Anton Paar, one of the world leaders in laboratory instrumentation and services, has a vacancy for a role of Finance Assistant based at its UK headquarters in Luton. Reporting to the Finance Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive finance support to Anton Paar UK and Ireland employees. This position will handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties. This is an ideal opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly growing organisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Post all incoming and outgoing payments from the bank accounts.
2. Reconcile all bank accounts on a daily basis.
3. Code and post all overhead vendor invoices. Liaise with the team leader to ensure payments are made appropriately.
4. Process, reconcile and post to SAP the company credit card, Premier Inn account, mobile phone bills and petty cash.
5. Manage the sales ledger with support of payment terms from the Finance Team Leader, process regular dunning runs, follow up overdue invoices and arrange for correction where needed.
6. Reconcile the duty/Tan deferment account for Ireland.
7. Manage billing plans for customers - communicating payments/invoices to Anton Paar Ireland.
8. Other duties include assisting with booking travel and lunches, ordering office supplies and ad-hoc basic tasks as UK cover.
9. Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
10. Focus on IE business (priority) - knowledge of IE practice (advantage not essential).
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Finance Assistant/Accounts Assistant or relevant role.
2. Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Problem-solving, can-do attitude with an eye for detail.
5. Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
6. Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially in Excel.
7. Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritise workload.
8. Part AAT Qualified or similar.
