Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4,300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2,955 bridges.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Highways Technical Support Officer, this post will be based in Cuerden Depot within the Countywide Maintenance Team.
The post holder will be required to manage highway enquiries from members of the public and elected members, providing technical responses as required, demonstrating exceptional customer focus skills. Responsibilities include:
1. Carrying out highways site inspections to identify works for delivery within the relevant LCC policies and procedures.
2. Being familiar with standard office and mapping software.
3. Assisting with day-to-day duties in the office.
4. Ordering and quality checking works.
5. Regularly updating live inventories.
6. Assisting technicians and engineers with other duties deemed appropriate to the post.
The post being advertised is permanent, subject to a six-month probationary period being successfully completed.
