The Role
This key strategic Sales role is to lead from the front and deliver the agreed company's growth targets across the full portfolio of services. This will involve taking ownership of existing transport capabilities and complementing them in the creation of new sales opportunities.
The objective is to both serve existing clients and attract significant new business by providing an efficient and profitable solution serving complementary clients. Managing and leading the sales function, you will ensure that it is positioned to maximize sales opportunities to ensure our client achieves its ambitious growth plans. As well as your own new business targets, you will also manage a small team.
A natural ambassador, you will enjoy working with clients to develop large existing and new revenue streams.
The Applicant
With previous experience of running/leading a business unit in excess of a million pounds with full commercial responsibility, you will have proven success in achieving product growth, revenue, and profit targets. Senior level Business Development experience within a logistics business is essential.
Excellent communication skills combined with the intellectual capacity to sell the concept in a trustworthy, personable, and professional manner are required. You should demonstrate resilience, confidence in your own ability, and a positive approach.
Leadership skills are crucial; you must be willing to take the lead and make difficult decisions. Ideally, you will have similar role experience in 3PL, 4PL, complex, or outsourced logistics sales.
Use this insight to shape the way forward, creating innovation and analyzing implications. Adaptability to thrive within a complex business environment is necessary.
You must demonstrate a hunger for success and be prepared to invest exceptional time and effort to achieve our client's ambitions. Confident and articulate, you will command respect through knowledge, experience, and personal style, with a passion for achieving sales and profit targets. Thriving under pressure, you will be capable of managing multiple priorities and working to critical deadlines and new business objectives.
