Follow this link to find out more About the FCA. The Law and International Team (L&I) sits within the Law, Policy and International Department, which is part of Enforcement Legal. L&I provides strategic, legal and policy advice on international aspects of Enforcement investigations and on related aspects of confidentiality, disclosure of information and international collaboration. What will you be doing? The focus of this role is on legal and policy aspects of enforcement cooperation and international investigations. Key aspects are likely to include: Legal expertise Identifying and advising on complex legal issues which arise when providing assistance to and seeking assistance from overseas regulators and sharing information Building upon and reviewing existing know how and processes within L&I to ensure that the team takes a consistent approach to key legal risks Strategy and policy Using technical and analytical expertise to help develop an international enforcement strategy, working with others across the FCA, which aims to strengthen the FCA’s ability to effectively tackle cross-border misconduct Helping to deliver on that strategy – with a focus on clear and practical outcomes – for example, through our work at international fora, influencing the development of international policy and through our relationships with key international partners Engagement Building relations with key international counterparts and internal stakeholders Engaging with senior management to inform decision-making on key international issues and acting as representative of Enforcement at international level What will you get from the role? Play a key part in the development of the FCA’s international cooperation agenda at a crucial time for the organisation Support the vital assistance that L&I provides to overseas regulators and the FCA in helping to tackle financial misconduct, which will make a real difference to industry behaviour, assisting the FCA in protecting consumers, tackling financial crime and maintaining market confidence Tackle challenging international and domestic legal issues on a regular basis Present to and persuade the most senior levels of Enforcement, FCA management and international counterparts Work with a wide variety of external stakeholders, including overseas regulators and international bodies Work in a friendly and professional environment with other highly-skilled and motivated individuals Which skills are required?
