The Sheffield Perinatal Mental Health service is excited to be advertising for two Peer Support Workers to join the service. We are thrilled to have been commissioned to deliver an offer for dads and partners alongside our core offer to women/birthing people experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties. These roles will support the delivery of the dads and partners pathway, as well as providing a broader peer support offer within the service. We are looking for people with lived experience of parenting, and either personal experience of perinatal mental health difficulties, or supporting someone through them. We are actively inviting men/dads to apply for this opportunity, as well as women/mums, in order to offer peer support that feels appropriate, sensitive and inclusive to the dads, partners and service users we care for. We welcome applications from diverse communities to represent the vibrant city we serve. Please read the job description and person specification to understand the roles, and please get in touch with the service if you would like to know more about the plans for the roles and discuss your application. We are passionate about providing the very best care to the people we support, and we're looking for amazing people who share this passion to join us. What is it that makes our Trust such a special place to work? Well, it's all about the people. Our staff, service users, carers and families all come from such diverse backgrounds and all have expertise and stories to share which we are keen to listen to and learn from. We are all very proud of the difference we make to people's lives each and every day and if that's something that you'd like to be part of we'd love to hear from you. There are ample staff benefits and support available to you when you join us. At SHSC, we prioritise the well-being and safety of both our service users and employees. It is our policy and a condition of employment that all employees must join the DBS Update Service. This service carries an annual fee, which employees are responsible for paying up front. However, employees may claim this cost back through the Trust's Employee Expenses Reimbursement Policy. For those requiring a Basic DBS check, it is necessary to register for a DBS Online Account. Please read the job description and person specification to understand the roles, and please get in touch with the service if you would like to know more about the plans for the roles and discuss your application.
