The Role: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take the lead on major projects, driving innovative and sustainable mechanical design solutions. You will oversee project teams, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients to ensure best practices in mechanical engineering. Key Responsibilities: Lead the mechanical discipline on assigned projects, ensuring high-quality and sustainable design solutions. Attend client and project briefing meetings, setting clear objectives and milestones. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers. Oversee design management, document control, and project delivery processes. Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to ensure compliance with statutory standards. Work closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless project coordination. Apply and contribute to company design strategies, standard details, and specifications. Identify and mitigate potential design and project delivery challenges. Conduct site visits to ensure design standards are met, reporting defects and advising on solutions. Maintain a proactive and solution-driven approach, fostering positive relationships with clients and internal teams. What You Need: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent. Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within a building services environment. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage projects and teams effectively. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with clients confidently. In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards.
