EHS Advisor
Purpose and Scope:
The EHS Advisor provides operational support and advice for environmental, health and safety services across projects. Assisting the Project EHS Leads and the Head of EHS to ensure all EHS company and contract requirements are satisfied to the required standard and that all reporting deadlines are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Provide sound EHS advice and support to the Project Teams across the whole of the Programme.
2. Ensure Project EHS Management Plans are compliant and kept up to date as a live document.
3. Ensure compliance with the project EHS Plan and Construction Phase Plans where required.
4. Provide advice on EHS design, procurement, equipment installation & commissioning, pre-construction, decommissioning, construction & demolition works.
5. Consider health and safety risks to everyone affected by the work in planning and managing the measures needed to control them.
6. Liaise with the Amentum project teams and other CDM duty holders to ensure that all risks are effectively managed.
7. Assist in the development of the Construction/Demolition Phase Plan before work begins, implement it, and regularly review and revise it to ensure it remains fit for purpose (where required).
8. Help ensure arrangements are in place for managing health and safety throughout the programme/projects.
9. Consult and engage with workers about their health, safety, and welfare.
10. Provide advice on suitable welfare facilities from the start of projects and maintain them throughout.
11. Assist in checking that anyone appointed has the skills, knowledge, experience, and, where relevant, the organisational capability to carry out their work safely and without risk to health.
12. Ensure all workers have site-specific inductions, and any further information and training they need.
13. Ensure measures are in place to prevent unauthorised access to work sites.
14. Assist in ensuring that the client is aware of its duties.
15. Conduct inspections and audits (Risk Based Inspection) of work locations, contracts, and the supply chain.
16. Actively promote improvements in attitudes and behaviours towards construction and EHS performance.
17. Carry out due diligence checks to ensure waste management practices are legally compliant.
18. Assist in the production of monthly Project EHS reports and pass them to the Head of EHS for compilation of a report for review by the Delivery Partnership and the Amentum EHS Director.
19. Carry out incident investigations and prepare reports detailing root causes, corrections, and corrective actions.
20. Ensure all company incident reports are uploaded to Intelex and any clients' reporting tool.
21. Assist, when required, in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with operational management and sub-contractors.
22. Review and appraise, when required, risk assessments, method statements, and related safety control documentation.
23. Deliver construction/decommissioning/demolition EHS briefings and training presentations.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
NEBOSH OR ES&H-related field, such as Environmental Engineering, Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management or other related sciences, or demonstrated equivalent. #J-18808-Ljbffr
