We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurse to join our Hugo Liebeschuetz Neonatal Unit at Southend Hospital. We are extremely proud of our Neonatal Unit, and have an on-going commitment to enhancing practice and staff development. This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Newborn babies and their families.
Our Neonatal unit is superbly equipped and resourced to care for all the sick and premature babies born at the hospital and in the local area; we also provide facilities for parents and carers.

Main duties of the job
You will assist the Manager in the provision and maintenance of a seamless service & high-quality care to patients in accordance with Clinical Governance within the ward/department.
1. To contribute to the reduction of healthcare-acquired infection by ensuring a high standard of infection control practice in the light of research, current best evidence, and legislation.
2. You will collaboratively function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Neonatal unit working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the Ward Philosophy.
3. You will be expected to work and support the Paediatric Directorate as a whole, inclusive of outpatients, Neptune ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit, and Accident & Emergency.
4. You will be expected to be a reflective practitioner and continue to develop your own capabilities and Nursing knowledge in line with the Trust's career pathway where education is supported.

Southend is the only Neonatal Unit in Essex with Stage 2 UNICEF neonatal standards. Part of the East of England Neonatal network, this dynamic level 2 unit has 16 cots and is part of the Eastern Neonatal Network.

* 1st or 2nd level registration (RGN)
Experience
* Knowledge of clinical information management.
* Previous experience of working within specialty area.
