We are looking to appoint an exceptional Principal Civil Engineer to work across an array of projects within our experienced team in Leicester or Sheffield. Working as an integral part of the team, you will play a key part in delivering major Highways/Public Realm and/or Infrastructure/Drainage projects (including Residential, Custodial, Healthcare, Education, MOJ, Commercial, Leisure).
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you can expect to become involved in:
1. Producing technical designs, specifications and reports for a large variety of projects in terms of size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Mentoring and managing your design sub-team (project programming and planning and resources).
3. Bidding, fee preparation and client meetings.
About You
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will play a lead role in shaping our offering, as part of a collaborative, talented team.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related subject, working towards a professional qualification.
2. Experience managing Infrastructure schemes, as well as bespoke projects.
3. Good knowledge of industry design software packages.
4. Excellent communication skills and a team player with a confident, positive and enthusiastic attitude, able to lead a team to success.
5. Ability to coordinate and contribute to bid preparation process including client presentation.
In order to stand out from the crowd, it is desirable for you to have:
1. CEng with post chartered relevant experience or IEng with post incorporated relevant experience.
2. Undertaking relevant CPD activities.
3. A good understanding of forms of appointment and construction contracts.
4. Confident liaising with new and existing clients and an ability to build a good rapport with other parts of our inter-disciplinary practice, and with external design teams.
5. Robust problem solving skills, taking accountability for assigned work.
6. The ability to lead a sub-team, focused on delivery of high quality design output.
