Role Overview:
As an RGN in our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, you will be integral to the multidisciplinary team, providing expert nursing care to patients with brain injuries. You will play a key role in monitoring patient progress, administering treatments, and ensuring that rehabilitation goals are met in a safe, supportive environment. This is a rewarding and dynamic role that will allow you to have a direct impact on the lives of patients as they work towards recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess, plan, and deliver individualized nursing care for patients with brain injuries, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
* Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including therapists, doctors, and healthcare assistants, to develop and implement care plans.
* Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the clinical team.
* Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
* Provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand the rehabilitation process and setting realistic expectations for recovery.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control procedures.
* Advocate for patients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in a respectful and compassionate environment.
* Assist with the emotional and psychological well-being of patients, offering reassurance and encouragement throughout their rehabilitation journey.
