As the Strategic Traffic Office Manager, you will manage the Strategic Traffic Management Office team. The team is responsible for all aspects of ANPR/WIMS (Weighing In Motion System) related activities.
You will be responsible for the governance of the roadside targeting and coordination regime, governance of DVSA’s digital communications and assisting the National ANPR Service (NAS) discovery team.
Through identifying optimum locations and times for targeting via analysis of ANPR data, your role will be supporting DVSA’s frontline Delivery teams, MOT Enforcement and Intelligence to increase the level of effectiveness of enforcement targeting activity and intelligence led capability.
This is an exciting, fast-paced varied role in which no two days are the same.
Responsibilities
You will:
* Identify trends in Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) data and managing locations and times of enforcement road check activity accordingly, in association with local networks and teams.
* Execute management responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes, working with, leading and acting as a role model for team members and colleagues in line with Civil Service values. Determine and plan team requirements, including allocating resources and prioritising activities, over the short to medium term by fully understanding the business environment in which the team operates, the overall team objectives, ensuring the team fully understands and works to these requirements.
* Audit and investigate any breach of Operating Instructions and provide evidential reports to relevant managers.
* Attend planning and targeting meetings including the National Tasking & Co-ordination Group and providing expert advice on ANPR and operational capability.
* Regularly check National ANPR Standards for Police and Law Enforcement (NASPLE) guidance to remain compliant and up to date with current requirements.
* Respond to requests for information and ANPR analysis whilst ensuring that request received are handled in line with policy.
