Description Please note, this role is based out of our Holborn Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the office 1-2 days per week on average. Make a valuable, visible difference. In this financial management role, you’ll partner with Sainsbury’s Tech as it delivers the Sainsbury’s Next Level strategy with technology at its heart. We’ve the entrepreneurial, exploratory, and fast paced mindset of a start-up, driving innovation within a FTSE100 company whose products are used by more than 70% of the UK population. You’ll be a vital business partner to our Product teams who are bringing digital, technology and data together like never before to create amazing systems and technologies. You’ll share an impact on anything from the way we run our stores to faster deliveries and innovative contactless check-out technology. More about the role Reporting to the Head of Finance – Technology Product, your role is to partner the Tech Leadership team, helping to influence and drive actions across Tech investments (both capex and Opex). You’ll work collaboratively across other areas within Commercial Finance to prepare business cases (focusing on Returns on Investment), reporting benefits, challenging decisions, and help prioritise the portfolio. Specifically, you will own and lead the overall Change reporting, analytics, and planning for Sainsbury's Tech. The role works with a variety of financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will own the supporting financial models (including data integrity), financial analysis and preparation of the management packs. Yes, success depends on delivering strong, accurate analysis, but it’s not a back office, number-crunching role. You’ll be judged on stakeholder feedback so it’s just as important that you can cultivate strong relationships with your colleagues in the tech team and work collaboratively to translate financial data into commercial insight. This a very high-profile role and you will be working closely across business, tech and finance teams often presenting to C-Suite stakeholders. More about you This is one of the most forward-facing areas of the business you can partner with, with dramatic changes of pace. If you’re excited by the speed and direction of technological progress, you’ll thrive here. Your experience of process and change management will ensure you can manage the pressure. Beyond that, you’re a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with impressive P&L experience, good knowledge of investment appraisals, an interest in Tech (Product / Agile methodologies) and the ability to manage senior stakeholders. You have worked in a Finance Business Partnering role within a large multi-function organisation. Personally, you’ll need to be an effective communicator, influencer, and challenger – someone who can proactively spot areas where your financial acumen can make a difference. People management experience would be ideal but not essential. However you’ll need to convince us that you can prioritise and push back where necessary and that you’re enthusiastic about bringing out the best in junior colleagues.
