Job Description
1. Providing high standard of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, always ensuring compliance with their site rules and regulations.
2. Liaising with the Transport Operations desk to make them aware of any potential difficulties, delays or any variations from original brief.
3. Ensuring that the vehicle is always driven with the utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians, and the local environments through which you travel.
4. To accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer.
5. Ensuring that all Company rules and regulations and compliance with legislation is always achieved.
6. Ensuring all documentation is checked against consignment, reporting any issues or differences.
7. To strive to ensure the punctual collection and delivery of all loads
8. Always ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load whilst on duty at all times and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Operations team as soon as identified.
9. Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using manual or mechanical lifting equipment where authorised and trained to do so.
10. Flexible with shift starting and finishing times.
11. Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle whilst on duty, and leaving the vehicle in clean condition, reporting any defects immediately.
12. To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Depot Management
Qualifications
13. We will consider new passed HGV Class 1 Drivers on basis by basis.
14. Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence
15. Current CPC
16. Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
17. Excellent communication skills
18. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
19. Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadline
