What is Trade Finance? Trade Finance is a powerful mechanism which allows banks to support businesses navigating the complexities of global trade. Thanks to a variety of financial products, the bank facilitates the financing of goods or services between a supplier and an exporter as well as assists the various counterparties in mitigating their risks. Trade Finance is a very diverse and interesting department of the Bank as it caters for the financing of transactions for importers and exporters from all over the world for a multitude of products such as Oil, Pharmaceuticals, Foodstuffs, Technology and even Motorcycles. The Business Development Unit of the Bank has the mandate to support the expansion initiatives of the Bank and this includes developing new businesses, engaging new customers and creating value for the Bank within value chain model of the Group. This provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside several departments in the Bank which also allows for cross-development and for any individual that desires to partake in building a profitable team while maximising career growth prospect. Your day-to-day responsibilities: · Assisting in the analysis and development of trade finance products and strategies. · Supporting client engagement activities, including preparing presentations and financial reports. · Conducting market research and identifying new opportunities to enhance trade finance offerings. · Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and ensure alignment with business objectives. · Providing administrative and analytical support to the Trade Finance team. · Assist in ensuring compliance with trade finance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including managing risk in trade transactions. · Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments. · Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency in trade finance operations. Key skills: We are looking for someone with: A degree in a relevant area such as Banking, Economics, Finance. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A confident communicator with excellent influencing skills and the ability to appropriately challenge at all levels. Problem solving and excellent analytical skills are essential, and you will be a resilient individual who is calm under pressure. You will be able to meet deadlines and organise workload according to changing priorities. Ability to independently plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate projects to achieve results. Strong teamwork skills and a quick learning ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Proficiency in Portuguese and/or French is an advantage but not a requirement.
