Temporary Industrial Placement - Accessories Design Engineer (MC519)

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a passion for engineering and design who are eligible to undertake a Year in Industry through their University course. You must have exceptional attention to detail, great communication skills, the capacity to work individually and as part of a high calibre team and have the ability to meet tight deadlines with no compromise on quality.
You can expect to work on an expansive range of Motorcycle components and be responsible for developing Accessory equipment from initial styled concepts, through detail design, testing and development, right through to production. Accessory equipment is designed concurrently with new motorcycles and is developed and tested to the same exacting standards. You will work closely with our Chassis, Powertrain and Product Planning departments and liaise with external suppliers across the globe.
Applying engineering first principles, the products you design will allow our customers to upgrade and personalise their Triumph motorcycles, you should be excited by the prospect of seeing your components on customers’ motorcycles in the near future.
As a Placement Student you will:
1. Be an integral part of a supportive and collaborative team who, along with a dedicated mentor, will support you as you work towards completing projects to the same standards and deadlines as our permanent Design Engineers.
2. Receive Advanced CAD training to give you the skills needed to complete work to the highest standard as well as develop yourself as a Design Engineer.
3. Regularly collaborate with specialised teams and various departments across the company – to drive your projects forwards and develop your own knowledge and experience.
4. Make meaningful contributions to new motorcycle Accessory projects, as you adopt a customer centric approach in your work.
5. Apply strong engineering judgement in addition to robust first principles engineering, to deliver successful projects with sound engineering justification.
6. You will take ownership and responsibility for driving your work to conclusion, with the backing and support of the team, subject matter experts and other departments within the company.
