Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Overview
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials and labour to ensure competitive and compliant tender submissions.
* Review technical specifications, structural reports, and architectural details to assess project feasibility.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process, attending pre- and post-tender meetings.
* Collaborate with design, production, and site teams to ensure practical project execution and procurement alignment.
* Monitor commercial aspects of ongoing projects, including variations, cost control, and financial reporting.
* Maintain project data in CRM and ERP systems, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting for senior management.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising processes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Job Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Strong technical knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, and procurement strategies.
* Good understanding of industry software such as MS Project, AutoCAD, Trimble (desirable but not essential).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Understanding of NEC and JCT contracts (preferred).
* Full driving license.
Quantity Surveyor/Estimator Salary & Benefits
* £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
* 20 days of holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.
