As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Markets - Prime Finance Services, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
1. Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
2. Be accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
3. Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
4. Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
5. Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
6. Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
7. Formal training or certification on Java/Spring/Spring Boot concepts and advance applied experience
8. Experience in managing, developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages like Oracle, MySQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
9. Experience leading teams of technologists
10. Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
11. Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
12. In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
13. Hands-on in designing high level software architectures including data models, APIs and system integration.
14. Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
15. Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
16. Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,
