Job Title: MEP Designer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: Hybrid (Ware, Hertfordshire - 2/3 days per week in HQ)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Designer (Mechanical Bias) to join a well-established design and project delivery consultancy specializing in high-quality mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) solutions. The company works across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, providing innovative and energy-efficient building services designs. This role is crucial in delivering comprehensive mechanical designs while also offering support to the electrical division when required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the full mechanical design process for a range of building services projects.
2. Design and specify ventilation systems (MVHRs, FCUs, extract and supply fans).
3. Develop air conditioning systems, including air source heat pumps.
4. Design mechanical pipework systems, including CHW (Chilled Water) and LTHW (Low-Temperature Hot Water) networks.
5. Plan and specify domestic and public health pipework systems.
6. Work on mechanical control systems to ensure seamless integration with wider M&E systems.
7. Utilize CAD software to produce detailed designs and schematics.
8. Support the electrical division during quieter periods within the mechanical department.
9. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality MEP solutions.
Key Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
2. Experience: Strong background in mechanical design for building services with knowledge of electrical systems being advantageous.
3. Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar).
4. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ventilation, air conditioning, pipework, and control systems.
5. Industry Experience: Exposure to commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
6. Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, and project teams.
