Join our dedicated team as a Senior Flood Risk Investigation Officer, where you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding communities across Cheshire East. Working alongside the Flood Risk Manager, you’ll help implement and communicate the latest responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. Your key duties will include investigating significant flooding incidents within your designated area, supporting fellow Flood Risk Officers, and overseeing transient works such as jetting and CCTV inspections of drainage infrastructure. Additionally, you’ll contribute to managing the Capital Program budget, focusing on Level 3 projects and external funding opportunities. You'll also support the maintenance of the LLFA’s Asset Register and collaborate with Flood Risk Engineers on site visits for planning applications.
The Role
1. To assist the Flood Risk Manager in the delivery of the flood risk functions, new duties and responsibilities.
2. Assist with delivery of Strategic Flood Risk Management Body and Flood Risk Management Strategy.
3. Assist with regulation and technical adequacy of new development and drainage works activity.
4. To review and improve the quality of the existing data relating to flood risk in the local area.
5. To improve the understanding of flood risk in the local area by reviewing existing information and data and by seeking additional data sources.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience of corresponding with members of the public, Council Members, MP’s and stakeholders using all forms of communication.
2. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
3. Full clean driving licence.
4. Experience in completing drainage investigations, relating to a number of flood sources.
