Principal People are working with a multi-disciplined principal contractor to take the lead on a developing business unit in an initially standalone role within a well-respected and successful Construction Contractor. This role will allow you to take the reins on a developing business unit with a clear and equal path for progression and professional development.
This successful business is looking for someone who has an eye for quality over quantity and a proactive, autonomous and positive attitude towards Health & Safety, delivering it in a cohesive and pragmatic approach.
The Successful Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for:
1. Risk Assessment & Safety Procedures: Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures based on identified hazards; support site teams in creating RAMS.
2. Supporting BID Teams: Working with Bid teams to continue the development of an impressive portfolio of large-scale construction projects.
3. Site Inspections and Compliance: Perform monthly safety inspections, ensure compliance with accreditations and follow up on corrective actions.
4. Work alongside experienced professionals: This business delivers projects to a high standard, with a focus on quality work with quality employees who are bought into Health & Safety.
5. Training and Upskilling: Manage and deliver training for staff on Health and Safety, promoting safe working practices.
6. Incident Management: Investigate accidents/incidents, produce reports, monitor occupational health and build relationships by getting ‘boots on the ground’ to influence safety in a collaborative manner.
7. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, assist with site documentation, and manage induction portals and sub-contractor registers.
The Successful Health & Safety Manager will hold:
1. NEBOSH Construction or Diploma
2. Experience in any construction or Infrastructure sector
3. A willingness to travel nationally when required
Beneficial experience and qualifications:
1. IOSH Membership
2. Experience working for a PC
3. Experience working within a ‘heavy’ construction environment, RC Frame, Steel Frame, Highrise.

Salary of £70,000 - £75,000.
Car Allowance of £6,000 + Expensed Mileage and travel costs
