As a Social Worker in Bristol's Adult Services, you will enjoy all the challenges that come with practicing in a busy city. You will make a difference to the lives of people across our diverse communities and will benefit from our commitment to supporting your career progression, in a modern and agile workplace.
Assessing the needs of citizens of Bristol and carers, you will plan, implement, review, and evaluate outcomes; working for and with individuals, taking care to understand their unique circumstances and priorities. Championing the principles of choice and control, you will also support people to make their own decisions; and to be empowered to have services organised, and risks managed, in ways that are right for them. Constantly maintaining your professional standards as our service continues to develop, you will keep a keen eye on changing needs; from developing and reviewing support plans and provision, to enabling the creative use of resources including assistive tech, providing Social Care that is always fit for the future.
Minimum Requirements:
Registered with Social Work England, you will have a Social Work or relevant SWE qualification or you are an undergraduate completing your social work degree.
You will be highly motivated, with lots of initiative, and will demonstrate the ability to adapt your interventions in response to all kinds of people, in a range of working environments; and be naturally collaborative, bringing to the role a flair for building relationships, and working in partnership. Diverse, friendly and independently minded, Bristol is celebrated as one of the country's most desirable cities in which to live and work. That's something we wholeheartedly agree with - and why we go the extra mile to support our people with a good work-life balance. Join us, and you'll thrive in our supportive, collaborative environment, with every opportunity to build on your existing skills and develop new ones. For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.
Passionate about person-centred Social Care, you will also have a proven talent for involving people in decision making and building on their strengths. In return, we will build on your strengths, with excellent opportunities to develop and progress.
You'll also benefit from our competitive rewards package including generous leave policies and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition, you'll be working in a supportive environment where you'll play a part to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.
