We are seeking a motivated and inspirational Divisional Chief Nurse to lead our nursing team within the Surgical Division here at SASH. As a key member of the senior leadership at the Trust, you will be responsible for the effectiveness of professional leadership and development of nursing within the division to facilitate the delivery of excellent clinical practice and high-quality care. As part of the divisional triumvirate, you will work alongside the Chief of Service and Divisional Director to shape and clearly define the vision for the division, with specific accountability for nursing standards. Main duties of the job
As Divisional Chief Nurse, you will be professionally accountable for all registered nurses within the division and ensure professional workforce and development plans are aligned to service need. Through strong leadership and change management skills, you will collaborate with the Triumvirate to implement and evaluate innovative models of care delivery that meet the needs of service users, the Trust Board, the Integrated Care System and regulators.
The post holder will work closely with the Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Nurse(s) to embed and deliver the nursing and midwifery strategy, providing assurance to the Chief Nurse and Trust Board through quality measures and outcome indicators and ensuring alignment with Divisional service strategies. You will be responsible for developing systems and process that are effective and efficient in the delivery of clinical governance and risk management and have professional accountability for the quality and safety of service delivery within the division, maintaining professional standards and adherence to the NMC Code of Conduct.

Job responsibilities
As Divisional Chief Nurse, you will take the lead in ensuring that the quality governance agenda is effectively delivered across the division and work in partnership with the Chief of Service, Divisional Director and Lead Clinicians to embed systems and processes to deliver safe care, best practice and high standards of quality, and ensure a multi-professional approach across the whole service. The Divisional Triumvirate will also have responsibility for maintaining cost effectiveness of services through ensuring and demonstrating that services are provided in the most efficient manner. As a compassionate leader, you will develop a culture whereby the Division learns from user/carer/relative feedback to continually improve its services and effectively deliver safe and timely admission, transfer, and discharge of patients to reduce patient and organisational risk. You will act as a role model within the Division, providing professional and clinical leadership to nurses and midwives, to ensure high performance in managerial and clinical practice is both developed and maintained. You would be part of an upward journey, in which there is both permission and support to be innovative in the development and delivery of high-quality services across Surrey and Sussex.
