The role
As a Mechanical Calibrator, you will conduct the calibration, diagnosis, and repair of Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Day-to-day, you will achieve successful, timely completion of work packages, meeting safety and quality standards.
* Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with the Company’s cost, time, and quality requirements.
* Implement the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Instrumentation and Calibration area, ensuring risk assessments lead to safe working practices.
* Calibration, adjustment, diagnosis, and repair of diverse types of TMDE, including Pressure gauges, Force gauges, Torque tools, Scales & Balances, Calipers, Various Micrometers, and Dial Test Indicators.
* Produce Calibration Checklists for new models of TMDE and assist in the assessment of new Calibration Procedures as you gain parameter sign-off.
This position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.
This role is full-time, 36 hours per week Monday – Friday with a half day on Friday and is based on site at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Calibrator
* Knowledge of instrumentation and calibration procedures, theory, techniques, and processes (Mechanical)
* Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments
* Working experience with pressure systems
Qualifications for the Mechanical Calibrator
* SVQ Level 3 in a relevant mechanical discipline / recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role and be a sole UK National.
