Job Description
Job Title: Managing Director, CIB Strategic Enablement
Location: Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham, London
House: Full Time
Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our hub sites.
About this role
The Managing Director of CIB Strategic Enablement is a high profile leadership role within the CIB Chief Operating Office, responsible for leading the strategic transformation of the CIB division across a range of business critical areas.
Reporting directly to the CIB Chief Operating Officer, key responsibilities of the role include:
* Design and execution of the CIB organisational design to deliver balanced growth and market leading client service.
* Responsible for coordinating the CIB strategic investment budget and portfolio, collaborating with CIB and broader Group collaborators to achieve revenue and cost goals successfully.
* Accountable for managing the CIB cost and FTE budget, driving efficiency and productivity.
* Driving innovation and transformation through offshoring, continuous improvement, robotics, data and AI teams.
* Managing the extensive CIB external supplier population against key business, risk and cost requirements, as well as service provision standards within CIB and with Group partners.
* Serve as the Accountable Executive for CIB strategic investment programmes and participate as a member of the CIB COO Executive and Risk Committees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process – Responsible for developing and maintaining a robust operating framework, ensuring CIB service excellence, including service provision from Group Shared Services.
* Data – Responsible for CIB Data Office, shaping data driven decision making, insight and GenAI to drive delivery of CIB strategy.
* Coordinate & Manage Risk – Responsible for coordinating the function to ensure effective risk management and colleague conduct. Ensures delegation of authorities are formalised and that appropriate training and external accreditation is completed, where required.
* Transformation – Accountable for CIB Strategic Investment, including influencing and supporting platform partners to ensure investment delivers strategic outcomes and benefits are realised.
* Colleague – Act as a Group Role Model demonstrating Group values and behaviours in day-to-day interactions, in line with LBG culture. Actively drives high performance culture.
What you'll need:
Market Knowledge
* Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which LBG operates with experience operating at executive level.
* Strong leader with significant experience of managing large, multi-disciplinary functions and an excellent understanding of the key drivers, issues and constraints of the business.
* Familiarity with enabling technologies and tools and strong project management skills to lead all aspects of multiple initiatives and ensure timely completion.
Risk Management and Control
* Proven ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to LBG. An awareness and understanding of the main risks facing LBG.
Business Strategy and Model
* Awareness and understanding of LBG Business Strategy and model and proven ability to translate complex business requirements into a clear operating model and medium-term plan.
* Experience of implementing and monitoring planning methodologies at a strategic level.
Financial Analysis and Control
* Ability to interpret LBG financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
* Strong financial background with proven experience of leading large budgets, strategic investment and complex financial issues.
