At our Manton Wood site, we have approximately 1,700 colleagues. We produce sandwiches and wraps for major UK retailers including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi, and Lidl.
The site features amenities such as a gym, a restaurant with hot food, and a staff shop for our colleagues.
What you’ll be doing
As an experienced process development technologist, you will manage manufacturing projects aimed at process development and line trials by:
* Supporting the creation of customer and factory specifications, leading to accurate product labelling.
* Planning, preparing, and executing process development and line trials to meet customer requirements and enhance processes.
* Providing process guidance to cross-functional teams to promote the adoption of new practices for increased efficiency.
* Monitoring process trends to ensure launch date adherence, process optimization, and effective communication with customers.
* Investigating continuous improvement projects and facilitating trials to drive process and product enhancements.
* Documenting all line trial outputs, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality standards, and customer requirements.
* Assessing equipment capability to meet process standards aligned with company and customer expectations.
* Maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy.
What we’re looking for

* Experience with validation and verification of cleaning processes, especially related to allergens and meat species.
* Degree-level education in food science or a related field, with relevant experience in food manufacturing.
* Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Food Hygiene, Level 2 Health and Safety, HACCP Level 2, Sensory Training Level 2, and Microbiological Training Level 2.
* Experience evaluating and interpreting shelf-life results.
* Experience interpreting customer codes of practice.
* Proficiency with various computer programs and experience analyzing project results.
* Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and familiarity with retailer web-based systems is desirable.
* Understanding of relevant technology and key performance indicators in the business area.
* GMP knowledge, basic hygiene principles, legal labelling, and weight legislation knowledge are desirable; these may be developed post-recruitment.
