What you will do: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of social workers, advisors, practitioners, and support staff, ensuring exceptional service delivery to children and families. Deliver statutory and preventative social work services, focusing on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Mentor and supervise social work staff, ensuring compliance with Social Work England standards. Contribute to overall service management to achieve key performance targets and adhere to statutory requirements. Deputise for the Service Manager when necessary, ensuring the smooth running of the department. Organise and delegate team workloads, ensuring high-quality interventions for children, young people, and families. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for children and families. Develop effective working partnerships with other agencies, advocating for children and ensuring their voices are heard. Engage in continuous improvement through audits, observations, and learning implementation within social work practice. Qualifications & Education Degree in Social Work / Certified Qualification in Social Work (CQSW) / Certificate in Social Service (CSS) / Diploma in Social Work(DiSWSP) / Home Office letter of recognition Social Work England registration Hold or willing to complete Post Qualifying award in social work or Children, Young people, Families and Carers (specialist post qualifying award in social work) within 18 months of appointment Hold or willing complete Practice Educator or Assessor accreditation within 18 months of appointment Evidence of Post Qualification learning and development This post requires satisfactory clearance of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service disclosure Morden, nestled within the London Borough of Merton, offers a unique blend of suburban tranquility and city accessibility.
