Who You Are You are an experienced Planning Lawyer with a thorough understanding of planning, highways, and environmental law. You have been admitted as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive in England and Wales or a Common Law jurisdiction. You possess strong advocacy skills and experience in applying law in a public setting. You are a proactive and adaptable individual committed to delivering high-quality legal services while demonstrating a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. What the job involves The role involves providing efficient and cost-effective legal services to various departments such as the Planning Team and Highways Team. This includes conducting cases in courts and tribunals, drafting legal documents like section 106 agreements, advising committees, and keeping clients informed of new legislation. You'll represent the Council in planning inquiries, manage complex caseloads, and provide training to council members and departments. You will also suggest improvements to service delivery and demonstrate cost-consciousness in your work.
