Job Title: Warehouse Operative Contract: Permanent, Full-time Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm What we are looking for We are looking for a reliable, trustworthy and hardworking Warehouse Operative, who is physically fit and accurate in the work they produce. The role involves working in a warehouse, as part of a small team, picking and packing orders and arranging the despatch of items to their end destination. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of warehouse tasks and you will be required to work on your own initiative and deliver a high standard of work, ensuring the timely and accurate picking of orders and despatch. In order to be considered for this role, you MUST have experience of operating a Counterbalance Forklift truck and be a confident driver, as you will be operating it in a small warehouse where skilled manoeuvring is required. We will consider applicants with expired licences. Key Responsibilities Assisting with Goods-In and receiving items; checking the delivery notes and logging the goods received into an Excel spreadsheet; Checking the physical condition of items to ensure they have not been damaged in transit/upon receiving; Storing items in an organised and safe manner within the warehouse; Recording details of all stock movements on to Excel spreadsheets; Manual handling and physical lifting of items in warehouse, ensuring safe lifting practice; Operating a Counterbalance forklift truck for loading/unloading purposes and for moving heavy loads (you must have experience of operating a counterbalance FLT truck (we will consider applicants with expired licences - company will pay for refresh training) Picking customer orders in the warehouse from pick lists provided by the office teams; Packaging and labelling items correctly to get them prepared for shipment/despatch; Ensuring the warehouse area and loading/unloading bays are kept clean, hazard-free and safe at all times. What we are looking for? Previous experience of working successfully within a warehouse environment; Experience of operating a counterbalance forklift truck (ideally with a valid CB Licence, but we will consider applicants with an expired licence - refresher training provided); Physically fit and able to carry out physical work; Someone who is reliable and trustworthy and able to work in a responsible manner; Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills and able to multi-task; Able to use Microsoft Office (mainly Excel software) to ensure accurate records of stock movements and to confirm orders; Effective communication and the ability to read and write; Someone who is flexible, adaptable and works well in a team environment; Takes pride in their work and likes to deliver work of a high quality standard
