The main purpose of the role is pivotal in driving growth by identifying and securing new opportunities in sectors such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and public infrastructure. You will be the face of the company in the region, responsible for expanding our presence and building strategic relationships that lead to meeting a challenging business plan target and developing long-term partnerships. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including architects, consultants, commercial clients, and public sector bodies. Actively prospect and qualify leads within the Stoke and Derby area through networking, industry events, and market research. Support pre-qualification and tender submissions in collaboration with the bid and estimating teams. Provide tailored presentations and proposals aligned with client requirements. Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and manage the full sales cycle. Collaborate internally with preconstruction, operations, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive client approach. Keep informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in procurement practices. Deliver monthly reports on business development activities, forecasts, and market insights. Have you got what it takes: Proven experience in a business development or sales role within the construction industry. Strong understanding of commercial and public sector construction procurement processes. Established network across the Stoke and Derby region within relevant sectors (e.g., education, healthcare, logistics, retail). Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work autonomously and strategically within a regional territory. Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel regularly within the region.
