Job Description:
Axcis Education is working with a prominent secondary school in South Bristol that is looking to take on several teaching assistants for the new academic year. These are full-time positions, working from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, on long-term contracts with the possibility of becoming permanent.
These roles provide wonderful opportunities to make a significant impact on students who need support. What are we looking for?
1. Experience and a good understanding of special needs, particularly with students who may have ADHD, ASC, SEMH, or attachment disorders.
2. Experience in special needs does not need to come from a school setting, though this is desirable. Relevant experience from residential, youth work, or volunteering is also considered.
3. Strong empathy and understanding of the challenges students face, along with resilience to navigate barriers they may present.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, providing feedback to teachers on student progress.
In addition to the work, we offer a wide range of accredited online courses to help you develop and tackle challenges with confidence.
To work with children, you will need an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
If you are interested, please contact Lee Harris at 0117 4722400 | Ext: 2006 and click on the apply button.
If you know someone else who might be interested, we offer £150 in shopping vouchers for referrals that lead to placements.
This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise.
Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race, or any other criteria.
The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
You will be required to provide an up-to-date DBS or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, along with other mandatory compliance checks per DfE guidelines.
Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term, and long-term assignments, as well as permanent positions.
You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face-to-face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability.
Salary / Pay Rate: Dependent on skills and experience.
