Role Purpose
The Early Talent Advisor (Recruitment) will report into the Senior Early Talent Manager and will combine best practice recruitment with a creative understanding of candidate engagement methods to attract, recruit and develop our trainee and apprentice cohorts.
The Firm looks to ‘grow our own’, attracting and retaining strong junior talent across offices and practice areas. We annually recruit a cohort of around 32 trainees and apprentices in the UK and internationally.
The Early Talent team sits within the Talent and Culture area in the HR Function, and consists of a Senior Early Talent Manager, Early Talent Senior Advisor (Development), Early Talent Advisor (Recruitment), and is supported by a Talent Acquisition Administrator in the team.
The role holder will work closely with the Senior Early Talent Manager to develop the attraction and selection strategy and operationally deliver the Early Talent recruitment cycle, while providing ad hoc support to the Early Talent Senior Advisor (Development) to develop our trainees and apprentices. The Early Talent Advisor (Recruitment) will also work closely with the Talent Acquisition team, wider HR team, trainee recruitment partners and key marketing stakeholders.
This is a full time position based in the London office with occasional travel to our other UK offices and target universities to deliver candidate events and internship schemes.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Work with the Senior Early Talent Manager, Diversity Equity & Inclusion team and Marketing department to develop and implement the Firm’s online marketing strategy for Early Talent recruitment through the website and external provider platforms.
* Forge meaningful and influential working relationships with the wider HR team, Business Services, Directors, Partners, managers and other key individuals in the Firm.
* Have ownership of and deliver an active social media presence, monitoring analytics to drive engaging content.
* Management of internal and external recruitment events (both virtually and in person), such as law fairs and insight days, ensuring that Firm’s message is delivered in a professional and inclusive manner.
* Plan and deliver the spring and summer placement schemes and internships including inductions, speaker sessions, social events and assessment centres.
* Delivering the Early Talent assessment and selection process including management of application pipelines through each of the assessment stages, including the planning and running of assessment centres.
* Ensure candidate quality is maintained and provide an exceptional candidate experience that is in line with the Firm’s core values.
* A trusted assessor throughout the Firm’s selection process, working closely with the recruitment partners to agree sifting and hiring decisions.
* Work with the Senior Early Talent Manager to review and further evolve the Firm’s selection tools, adding a DE&I lens, and considering the impact of AI on our processes and quality controls.
* Provide reporting and analytics to monitor key recruitment performance indicators such as cohort demographics, application trends and retention.
* Support the Early Talent Senior Advisor (Development) by building relationships with the trainees and apprentices to understand and support their development needs, once they start at the firm.
* Work with the Early Talent Team, Talent Acquisition Team and Diversity & Inclusion team on talent related initiatives and projects.
Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.
Skills and Experience
* Excellent social media skills and a keen eye for engaging content trends.
* Previous experience in a recruitment or early talent role is desirable, ideally in a legal environment.
* A good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media platforms.
