Exhall Grange is a 4-19 maintained school which provides a nurturing environment and meets the needs of children and young people with: • Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs • Physical difficulties • Sensory impairment • Complex medical needs Many of our children and young people are physically or emotionally extremely vulnerable or have life limiting conditions. Some of our pupils are highly anxious and require our calm, predictable and nurturing environment in order to access school. This is as important to us as the academic and vocational curriculum. We are seeking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work with a diverse cohort of pupils across our school community. This means that you could be working with any age group within the school from Early Years Foundation Stage to Post 16. We expect candidates to have at least (please see full details in Job Description):- • A passion for supporting pupils to learn to the best of their ability. • A recognised and relevant NVQ level 2 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, experience and skills. • At least GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grace A-C. • A good knowledge and understanding of SEND and areas of the curriculum. • Previous experience of TA work • Good communication and listening skills and be able to present information verbally and in writing. The salary range for this position is £27,700 - £30,060 full time equivalent which equates to £20,928 - £22,711 per annum actual salary for 32.5 hours per week working term time plus 5 training days.
