Associate Sustainability Consultant - Buildings

Your new role
As our new Associate Sustainability Consultant, you will drive the delivery of strategic sustainability consultancy on projects with our external clients as well as challenging projects internally to encourage realistic sustainable outcomes. You will also support the Head of Sustainable Solutions in team management operations and driving the future growth of the team, their impact on projects, and the services delivered.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Project Leadership and Delivery: Plan, manage, and delegate deliverables efficiently, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Strong project management skills are essential. The Sustainable Solutions team are an integral part of multi-disciplinary project delivery, and work across all Buildings disciplines and cross-market on energy, transport, and other sectors. A collaborative mindset is a key driver to success in this role. Your expertise will contribute to identifying sustainable opportunities for improvement and minimising the environmental impact of projects.
2. Team leadership: You will have experience of leading a team of dedicated and passionate employees in the sustainability sector. Your communication skills will ensure team members are fully empowered to produce quality deliverables within the required timeframe. You will inspire a productive work environment and provide support to junior team members. You will report into the Head of Department and support them in ensuring whole team KPIs are achieved each month in line with company requirements.
3. Service Line Delivery and Development: Demonstrate the ability to develop new service lines and expand existing services within the sustainability sphere. Your strategic thinking and innovative approach will drive continuous improvement and value creation for our clients. You will be experienced in managing client relationships and developing new connections to enable us to deliver the best solutions possible. You will be involved in exciting projects and have the ability to support and mentor team members.
4. Marketing and Thought Leadership: Support marketing efforts to raise the profile of the Sustainable Solutions team both internally and externally. Contribute to thought leadership initiatives through publications, presentations, and knowledge sharing sessions, highlighting the impact of circular economy practices on the built environment.
About you
* Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field within the Sustainable Building sector.
* Building Experience: Experience working with both new and existing buildings across various use classes or typologies, including commercial, residential, hotels, leisure, healthcare, and industrial. Possess a good understanding of all elements of a building, including structures, facades, services, and finishes. This holistic perspective will enable you to provide valuable oversight of the design process and ensure the integration of circular economy principles across all building components.
* Delivery experience: you will have delivered successful sustainability projects through certifications (BREEAM, WELL, LEED etc.), whole life carbon, circular economy, strategy setting and decarbonisation.
* Technical Proficiency: The ability to read drawings and technical specifications is essential for interpreting design intent and ensuring compliance with sustainability goals throughout the project lifecycle.
