Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Payroll Services Team Manager to join us. You will a team of staff completing the smooth transition of pensioner payroll for Pension Risk Transfer business to Legal & General from the previous payers, payroll alterations and Buy-In payment reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing, motivating, and developing employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures, to maximise the performance of the area
* Managing buy-in payments for complex schemes including those loaded to appropriate internal system and those calculated on spreadsheets, ensuring all payments and true-up calculations are completed accurately and within the agreed timescales
* Ensuring that the team provides the highest level of support to clients (internal and external) including consultants, trustees, administrators, and pensioners at all times, ensuring that all of their enquiries are resolved in accordance with the relevant SLAs
* Managing a team loading new payroll data and any amendments for immediate annuitant schemes onto the appropriate system in line with the benefit specification
* Understanding and maintaining the team’s work processes, regularly reviewing and updating processes for new product developments
* Ensuring all risks and controls relating to the department are monitored and reported in accordance with risk and compliance guidelines
* Managing and prioritising workflow and resources to ensure that all deadlines are met
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* Understanding of defined benefit pension schemes is highly beneficial.
* Working to tight deadlines
* Clear communication
* Has a knowledge of the following legislation and remains compliant: GDPR, Money Laundering, Complaints, Treating Customers Fairly and Breach guidelines
* Has a strong understanding of the risks to their team, and the business. Actively takes steps to reduce these risks
* Highly customer focused and understands the need to maintain and improve relationships with both internal and external customers. This includes policyholders, scheme members, legislative bodies, third parties and your colleagues within the whole of L&G.
* Confident working with data (in Excel) and using a range of functions
* Experience loading data and benefits to administrative systems
* Ability to prioritise own work having a regard for Team and business area needs. Can demonstrate an ability to plan realistically and organise across tasks/projects, achieving deadlines as directed
