Safety Assurance Engineer - Aviation Location: Bristol or Preston, - Hybrid and flexible working options available Salary: £47,000 - £52,000 (dependent on skills and experience) We are looking for a Safety Assurance Engineer (ISA) to join our team, working on cutting-edge military aircraft currently in service. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in in-service support, engineering risk assessment, and safety issue identification. About the Role: Work on military aircraft in active service, ensuring ongoing support and risk management. Identify and assess engineering risks and safety concerns to maintain operational effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Be based in either Bristol or the North West, UK. Who We're Looking For: Experience in in-service support for complex engineering systems. Strong ability to identify risks and safety issues in an engineering environment. Knowledge of military aircraft systems and support frameworks is highly desirable. If you or someone you know would be a great fit, we'd love to hear from you Key Responsibilities: Independently reviewing Support Solution artefacts to ensure safety implications are appropriately addressed Assuring the validity of Support Solution safety justifications in alignment with Support Solution deliverables Identifying and providing the necessary evidence to support qualification and safety justifications Liaising with stakeholders to ensure their safety requirements are met and fully considered Writing Independent Safety Assurance (ISA) Judgement reports for Target Event deliverables and presenting ISA recommendations or concerns to the Product Technical Authority Supporting program Product Safety Review meetings and Safety Committee meetings Skills and Experience Required: Degree qualified in a relevant subject or equivalent experience Understanding of in-service support and training activities (experience in RAF, military flying, etc., is desirable but not essential) Knowledge and application of safety management tools, techniques, and best practices Ability to work independently, forming safety-related opinions and justifications with minimal supervision Experience in Product Safety Assurance and Safety Management Systems (please note this role is focused on Product Safety rather than Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment) Benefits: Competitive pension scheme Employee share plans A range of flexible and discounted health, wellbeing, and lifestyle benefits, including private healthcare and a green car scheme Potential eligibility for an annual incentive Security Clearance Requirements: This role may be subject to security and export control restrictions.
