Our Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technicians (ACPT) make a real difference by delivering outstanding service to the communities we serve, from leading our pharmacy teams to providing Macmillan Cancer Support advice and patient triage. To support you in your role, we offer emerging technologies, our Pharmacy helpdesk with live chat facilities, and a network of pharmacy professionals across our stores and Support Centre. We also provide a six-week training programme for Pharmacy Technicians aspiring to become ACPTs.
About the opportunity
As an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in our pharmacies, leading your team to deliver a service that our customers and patients can trust. This role offers great opportunities for career development or to continue providing excellent service to your local community with ongoing CPD.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Accurately checking patient prescriptions that have been clinically checked by a Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
2. Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products, or Macmillan Cancer Support.
3. Delivering various services depending on store needs.
4. Building strong relationships with your Pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to uphold high standards of care.
5. Assisting with patient triage and distributing prescription handouts.
6. Taking ownership of legal, safe, and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
7. Managing operational tasks such as stock replenishment, workload management, order fulfilment, and handling controlled drugs, all while ensuring patient safety.
What you’ll need to have
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
* A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Motivation to improve services for teams, customers, and patients.
* A desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
* Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.
It would be great if you also had
* Previous experience as an ACPT (training will be provided if not).
