£75,000 - £78,000/annum Salary + Car Allowance + Pension
As a Swim Manager at Heston, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our swim school, swimming lessons, and swim school programming at our Heston site, as well as acting as a Duty Manager for a minimum of 2 shifts a week. Heston Pools and Fitness has two swimming pools and is one of our most popular swim schools across our 5 sites. As an ambitious, results-driven Swim Manager, you will look to grow our swim school through innovation and creative ideas, develop our teachers through CPD training, and work collaboratively with other departments across the business to ensure an innovative programme of activities that support and give back to the local community, delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinate and manage our swimming programmes at the leisure centre.
2. Ensure the swim programme is operated in accordance with the Swim England Teaching Plan.
3. Ensure the swim school brand is fully implemented at the centre.
4. Drive towards maximizing Swim School occupancy, working closely with other HoDs to optimize pool usage.
5. Assist schools with school swimming booking processes.
6. Forge positive working relationships with the local Swimming Clubs, Schools, and the Council’s Sports Development Team to benefit the Learn to Swim Programme and swimming in general.
7. Teach swimming lessons across all stages and abilities of the swimming programme if and when required.
8. Line management responsibilities for recruitment, induction, delivering training, appraisal, development, and performance management of staff, including one-to-ones.
9. Deal with any H&S incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns & report on the management system.
10. Provide clear leadership regarding compliance with all health and safety procedures and requirements, fixing or escalating issues as appropriate.
11. Supported by the Technical Trainer, ensure NPLQ CPD, comp test requirements are complied with at the Centre.
Qualifications and Experience Required
1. Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification.
2. Experience working in wet operations ideally and looking to move into a senior or management position.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. The ability to meet set targets and deadlines, and be proactive in your duties.
5. The ability to mentor, motivate, coach, and develop team members and customers to achieve their potential.
6. Experience delivering first-class customer service is essential.
7. Ideally hold or be able to work towards a First Aid at Work Qualification.
8. Ideally hold or be able to work towards a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
