Job Summary
The Quality Engineer will oversee Quality Assurance activities across product lines manufactured, assembled, and serviced within our Glasgow facility. Working with company policies and procedures, this role ensures compliance with external regulations such as ISO 9001 and ASME Certificates of Authorisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Quality Reviews: Lead reviews of contract-specific requirements at tender and order execution phases.
* Effective Communication: Communicate Quality requirements and expectations to internal and external stakeholders through formal channels.
* Process Resolution: Coordinate with internal departments to resolve product quality problems and provide guidance on Quality matters.
* Customer Negotiations: Lead negotiations with customers on Quality standards, promoting the company's external image.
* Audit Coordination: Coordinate audits in line with applicable programs for the Cathcart site, adhering to ISO9001:2015, NQA-1, and other industry standards.
* Incident Investigations: Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
* Process Development: Develop efficient processes and controls for Quality performance.
* Project Support: Oversee Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from initiation to closure, prior to goods shipment.
* Root Cause Analysis: Apply Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to eliminate repeat errors.
* EHS Support: Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements throughout project execution and facility operations.

* HSE Promotion: Promote Clyde Union Ltd's Health and Safety policies to minimize harm to self and others.
* HR Activities: Maintain Human Resource activities related to attendance, holidays, and performance.
* Compliance: Perform all duties according to Company Procedures, upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior.
* Self-Development: Develop skills and knowledge through training and developmental activities assigned.
* Customer Understanding: Establish expertise with customers and subject matter experts in designated technical/professional disciplines.
* Relationship Building: Create and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Reporting: Understand and use correct reporting lines.
* Flexibility: Be prepared to work reasonable hours, including travel and additional duties as required.
Managing People
* Leadership: Lead and manage people effectively through delegation, motivation, and development opportunities.
* Team Management: Ensure individuals and teams receive opportunities for skill development and knowledge sharing.
* Performance Monitoring: Develop measures to ensure individuals meet objectives, monitoring and appraising performance, and providing regular feedback.
* Conflict Resolution: Recognize and effectively resolve conflicts amongst individuals and teams, minimizing disruption to operations.
Education and Experience
* Qualifications: University or College Degree in Engineering or Quality Management, or significant relevant Industry experience.
* Industry Knowledge: Experience with ISO 9001, API, DEF-STAN's, NQA-1, ASME Codes and Standards, RCC-M, ASNT-TC-1A, and EN ISO 9712.
* Technical Competence: Review ISO/ASTM Standards and customer specifications.
* Process Risk Management: Experience with process risk management and RCFA.
* Computer Proficiency: High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Training and Auditing: Experience in preparing, developing, and delivering training programs, as well as wide-ranging auditing experience, both internal and external.
* HSEQ Knowledge: Basic knowledge of HSEQ Company Standards.
* Lean 6-Sigma: Yellow/Green Belt certification in Lean 6-Sigma.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
* Commercial Acumen: High degree of commercial acumen.
* Professional Conduct: Highly professional conduct.
* Travel Requirements: Willingness to occasionally travel and spend time away from home, holding a full UK Driving Licence.
