Student Experience:
This role sits within the broader Student Experience department, dedicated to ensuring an excellent student journey throughout the student lifecycle at Arden, from application and admission through to graduation.
This role sits within Wellbeing Services, a key area of the Student Experience department. Wellbeing Services includes Disability and Accessibility and Mental Health and Wellbeing support for Arden Students.
The Role - Mental Health and Wellbeing Team Leader
As an experienced manager in mental health and wellbeing within Higher Education, you will:
* Develop and lead on Arden’s Mental Health, Wellbeing, and Safeguarding strategy
* Lead and develop a team of advisers, based across our campuses and remotely
* Oversee mental health support, risk management, crisis intervention, wellbeing appointments and referrals to external agencies for Arden Students
* Work closely with the Wellbeing Services Manager, a second Team Leader, and the Disability and Accessibility Team to develop the service ensuring holistic and streamlined support for students
* Anticipate and address evolving needs with innovative solutions as Arden grows
* Serve as a Designated Safeguarding Officer, responsible for safeguarding at an operational level across Arden (with other colleagues)
**Travel is not expected to be more than once a month
About You:
The right Mental Health and Wellbeing Team Leader will have the following:
* Experience of leading a team of mental health/wellbeing advisors in a Higher Education setting
* Experience in the development, co-ordination and delivery of effective mental health strategies for students in Higher Education
* Experience working with a diverse range of people
* Experience of managing highly sensitive confidential information effectively
* Working knowledge of safeguarding issues in Higher Education
* A sound understanding of current legislation and best practice in relation to mental health, wellbeing and safeguarding, including Equality Act 2010
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
