Role Introduction
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Live In Dame’s Assistant to support the Dame with the pastoral care of the students, as well as supporting central teams with the day-to-day running of the House, ensuring its cleanliness, tidiness, and comfort, and that high levels of health and safety are maintained. You will have frequent contact with the students and in addition to your job role, you will be able to take an interest in the activities of the house such as sports, plays and musical productions.
You will work flexibly and collaboratively with the Dame to ensure that students’ needs are put first, and that you can both take appropriate rest breaks. At all times you will be a visible presence in the House when on duty. Our boarding houses are integral to the students’ lives, and you will have a direct impact on their experience of life at Eton College.
Please note, there will be a requirement to work both weekend days with a day off in the week. Shift patterns are primarily in the afternoon and evenings with one split shift on a Saturday which includes a morning shift. You will be required to cover 2 overnights and one evening until 10pm.
This role comes with the benefit of school-provided accommodation.

Main Duties
* Develop positive relationships with new pupils, induct them into house norms, set expectations about cleanliness, laundry, and respect for their environment, and encourage politeness, good manners, friendliness, and presentation. Help individuals settle into life at Eton and uphold standards, including discipline.
* Supervise laundry; ensure proper handling and report missing items.
* Supervise Messing Teas, ensuring health and safety compliance, and engage with pupils to provide pastoral support.
* Assist the Dame with pupils’ health and wellbeing, liaising with medical staff as needed.
* Escort pupils to appointments and respond during medical emergencies.
* Liaise with parents on medical or domestic matters in the Dame’s absence.
* Support functions and events, including setup, serving, and cleanup.
* Perform administrative tasks as directed, liaising with school teams.
* Communicate effectively with the Dame and adhere to child protection procedures.
* Cover for the Dame during time off, administer medication, and maintain records.
* Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas in line with standards and training.
* Attend all required training and meetings related to pastoral care, health and safety, and cleaning.
* Demonstrate commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
* Conduct weekly safety checks in line with standards and report issues promptly.

Preferred qualifications include:
* Experience in pastoral roles for children or young adults.
* Knowledge of Children’s Act, Safeguarding, and Child Protection.
* First Aid or medical training.
* Valid driving license.
